Where passion, discovery, and wonder meet to create a dynamic learning environment.

Entomica is an insect-based science centre and natural history museum located inside the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.  A variety of live exotic insects from around the world are displayed in beautiful living vivariums.

During our public tours, participants will be introduced to amazing insects by our knowledgeable Bug Wranglers. Hands-on interaction, up close viewing and photographs of the insects are encouraged! Availability of public tours will depend on the availability of staff or qualified volunteers so please be sure to check back here and follow us on social media to get the latest updates!

Bryony Burrows

"Such a fun experience! Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They gave the kids tons of cool facts about each creature as well as interactive part of being able to hold so many of them. The kids loved it!"

Christina Williams

"My girls [11, 10 and 3] all love visiting the bugs. If it wasn't for Entomica and the staff there my girls would still be terrified of every bug ever lol. Staff is always there to answer questions and help with handling the bugs. They're engaging and share a lot of information. Hands down one of the best places to take kids in the Sault!"

"These people love insects and that love is contagious! I happily held a praying mantis when I never thought I'd do that! They were excellent with our kids and the kids were thrilled to be there too, despite their initial hesitation.
I'm from out of town, but I wish I could go back. If you get the chance, go for sure!"

Jill Forbes

"WONDERFUL experience. Extremely knowledgeable staff. So neat to be able to hold the bugs!"
